After gastric bypass, do you still feel hungry all the time?

I've heard that some people, after gastric bypass surgery, do not feel hungry all the time, like they did before. Is this true? If you had the surgery, how is your appetite now?

I feel hungry CONSTANTLY and im hoping the surgery will help with that too.

I had Gastric Bypass in oct 2007. i've yet to feel hungry. I sometimes have to set an alarm to remind me to eat because if I get busy, I forget.

You have to be able to separate the physical feel of hunger and the craving to eat. If you can't get by that, the Gastric Bypass won't work for you. sometimes hunger is really thirst. sometimes hunger is purely physchological. You need to address why you are so "hungry". The psychologist that you are required to see pre-surgery will want to know that too.

I weighted well over 300 pounds when I had my surgery. I've lost 155 pounds to date. Only need to lose another 10 to be at my goal weight.

I thought the whole idea of having this surgery is to feel full after eating just a small amount. My husband had the surgery and this is the way it is for him. His appetitie used to be huge. Now he eats just a small amount and is no longer hungry which is just perfect for him to lose the weight he needs to lose. I don't think this surgery would work if you was hungry all the time like before. There would be no reason to get it done.
